Rhinoceroses are familiar to wildlife enthusiasts everywhere. Found throughout Africa and southern Asia, these massive animals are intimidating fauna of their local environments. Rhinos are herbivores,White rhinos, with their square-shaped lips, are ideally suited to graze on grass. Other rhinos prefer to eat the foliage of trees or bushes. Their preferred habitat varies, from savannas to dense forests in tropical and subtropical regions. ​

 

Rhino appearance

• The rhinos use they lips and teeth to eat plant matter exclusively, and their are adapted to taking and breaking down vegetation.

• The massive size growing up to 6 feet tall and weighing as much as 8,000 pounds,     rhinos are among the largest mammals walking the Earth

•  The Rhino thick skin usually have gray skin, although their individual shade depends to some extent on the soil conditions where they live and graze

•  The rhino horns are perhaps their most famous physical feature   

 

Rhino  habitat

  • Rhino habitat ranges from savannas to dense forests in tropical and subtropical regions

  • Black rhinos have various habitats, but mainly areas with dense, woody vegetation. 

  • White rhinos live in savannas with water holes, mud wallows and shade trees.

Rhino threats

• Their horns are used in traditional Chinese medicine, as well as carved into jewelry, dagger handles and other trinkets. 

• Some cultures believe that the powdered rhino horn will cure everything from fever to food poisoning.

• Illegal poaching operations and rapid deforestation has reduced the population of Rhinos to about three hundred.

 

 

In conclusion , the rhino is endagered ,so, we have to protect  them but the rihino that exit are in the zoo because the human produce the illegal poaching that kill a rhino only to get .
